At 09:54 am on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 the Amwell Valley-Ringoes Rescue Squad was dispatched with Raritan Township Fire Co and several other agencies for a reported structure fire with initial reports stating smoke and flames were visible from the windows of the building. Initial reports also indicated that an elderly female may still be in the residence but these  reports were quickly confirmed to be false.

Units arrived on scene to find a fully involved residential dwelling with exposures on both the left and right sides of the fire building.
